What, you thought we'd leave you hanging? There's so much more weird news on the way.

Not the actual lifesaving brassiere.

BRA SAVES WOMAN'S LIFE
A British woman survived after being hit by a bullet as it bounced off her "bra." Accountant Helen Kelly was caught in the crossfire of a gang war outside a music awards event in central London, and was hit as she ran for safety along with a friend. However, her life was saved as the bullet hit the underwire of her bra, snapping it, and deflecting the bullet away from her chest and through her right breast. "There was a lot of blood but I didn't know where it was coming from. I could see where the bullet had gone in but not where it came out," she said. Linton Ambursley, of South London, was jailed for 12 years after pleading guilty to wounding with intent.

FARMER EATEN BY OWN ANIMALS
(China, Reuters) - A Chinese man who raised bears to tap them for their bile, prized as a traditional medicine in Asia, has been killed and eaten by his animals. Six black bears attacked keeper Han Shigen as he was cleaning their pen in the northeastern province of Jilin. "The ill-fated man died on the spot and was eaten up by the ferocious bears," a report said. In practices decried by animal rights groups, bile is extracted through surgically implanted catheters in a bear's gall bladder, or by a "free-dripping" technique by which bile drips out through holes opened in the animal's abdomen. More than 200 farms in China keep about 7,000 bears to tap their bile, which traditional Chinese medicine holds can cure fever, liver illness and sore eyes. Police sent to the scene of the recent killing injected one of the bears with tranquilizers"but failed to tame the mad animal." Police then threw meat into the bears' pen to distract them so they could recover Han's remains.

TECH SUPPORT FOR STOLEN LAPTOP
(Nebraska) - Lancaster County, Nebraska, sheriff's deputies say a man couldn't get a stolen laptop computer to work, so he called the manufacturer's toll-free tech-support number for help. The IBM ThinkPad was reported missing after a rural home burglary, but there were few leads until IBM called. It turned out someone who wasn't the registered owner had failed in booting up the machine and called IBM's customer-service line. When the caller gave the machine's serial number, support personnel realized it had been stolen and notified the authorities. Deputies executing a search warrant on a Lincoln home found both the ThinkPad and a pistol that had been stolen in Omaha. They arrested Darrell Brown on suspicion of possessing stolen property.

TEACHER MISTAKES BOY'S INSULIN PUMP FOR PHONE, RIPS IT OUT
(Florida) - A substitute teacher in Lake County, Florida, was terminated and banned from teaching in the county after he ripped out a student's insulin pump during class apparently thinking it was a ringing cell phone. Officials said a ninth-grade student at East Ridge High School, a Type I diabetic, was in class when his insulin pump began to beep, indicating he was low on insulin. Witnesses said the teacher, Richard Maline, asked the student what the beeping was. School officials said Maline then grabbed the device, thinking it was a cell phone beeping and detached the tube that connects the insulin pump to the student's leg. The student went to the school's clinic and had the tube reinserted. Lake County school officials then acted quickly and terminated Maline.

GUN STOLEN AT SECURITY GUARD CONFERENCE
Thieves have stolen a pistol that was on display at a security guard conference on the Gold Coast. It was taken from a locked display cabinet at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, police said. The theft was reported to police at 5:00 p.m. when other weapons on display were signed back into the armory.

INDIAN POLICE ARREST 67 WOMEN IN DEATH OF BARBER
(India, AP) - Indian police arrested 67 women after a mob killed a barber suspected of practicing black magic, an official said. Dozens more women were being sought by authorities. The arrests came after the mob of about 150 women from the south Indian village of Muddireddypalli attacked the shop of a barber named Parvathalu, beating him and locking him inside before setting the building on fire. The villagers suspected he was practicing black magic and held him responsible for the large number of deaths in the village in the past year. The attack was prompted by the death of another woman earlier in the week, the official said. The barber was suspected of sorcery because "he was seen throwing lemons here and there." Police planned to arrest all the women involved in the attack, but most had fled their homes to avoid arrest.

DOCTOR SUED OVER SEX TREATMENT FOR BACK PAIN
(Seattle) - An Oregon woman whose doctor convinced her that he could cure her lower back pain by having sex with her is suing him and his medical clinic for $4 million. The doctor, Randall Smith, was stripped of his license and sent to jail for 60 days for charging the state's Oregon Health Plan $5,000 for his 45-minute "treatments" involving the woman. "Dr. Smith's medical treatment included intercourse in which he told the plaintiff was needed to help alleviate lower back and lower extremity pain," the former patient said in the lawsuit. The lawsuit, which charges battery, negligence and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, was filed in Multnomah County court. Smith could not be located for comment. Though he pleaded guilty to submitting false health care claims, a felony, Smith maintained the sex with the 47-year-old woman was consensual.

TYPHOON LONGWANG INJURES 34 IN TAIWAN
(China, Reuters) - Typhoon Longwang headed for China after swirling through Taiwan recently, injuring at least 34 people. As the storm approached, more than 200,000 people were evacuated from boats to land in China's eastern province of Fujian.

FUGITIVE GOES ON DATE WITH POLICEMAN
(Hungary) - A fugitive who escaped from prison in Hungary was caught when he unwittingly went out on a date with a policeman, the national police said in a statement. The unidentified man, sentenced for robbery and fraud, had posted an ad with his own photo in an online dating Web site. He set up a date at a pastry shop with someone who he thought was a woman. "At the place of the rendezvous the surprised man was caught and that is when he realized that the woman with whom he had exchanged e-mails and for whom he brought a ring was actually a man and on top of it a detective," the police said.

WOMAN, 93, GRABBED ROBBER WHERE IT HURTS
A 93-year-old woman with a "grip like iron" fought back against a robber by grabbing him by the testicles. The Lithuanian woman, who says her strong grip is down to years of milking goats, held on to the man until police arrived. Soja Popova was shoved to the ground when she opened the door to two young men. But she fought back by grabbing the nearest by the testicles and squeezing "with all my force as hard as I could." She told police, "He started screaming like an animal and his friend was trying to pull him free, but I have a grip like iron." The man's screams of agony and his friend's shouts for the woman to let go alerted neighbors, who called police. The pair were caught after escaping through a bedroom window and into the street where a police car was waiting to take the injured man to hospital and his friend to a jail cell. A police spokesman said, "They would not have gotten far, one of them could hardly walk and seemed pleased when he saw the police car. He demanded that he be taken to hospital because he was in so much pain."
